Join us on October 25th for our ‘Hog Wild Hootenanny’, where we will be celebrating local food, local beer, and the Connecticut farms we love. The best part is that all the proceeds from this kid-friendly event will support WLA’s farmland preservation efforts!
When: Sunday, October 25th from 3 to 6 pm
Where: Massaro Community Farm, 41 Ford Rd, Woodbridge, CT
Tickets are $50/adult, $10 for children ages 5 to 12. Children under 5 are free.
Our friends at Caseus and Mikro will be cooking up some delicious bbq – featuring meats and products from a number of Connecticut farms. On the menu: Pulled pork from Truelove Farm, smoked sliced beef brisket from Scantic Valley Farm, smoked chicken, mac and cheese, potato salad, butternut and honey nut Massaro Farm Squash, and vegetarian collard greens with smoked onions from Stone Gardens Farm. Mmmm….
And Black Hog Brewing Company will be serving up its ‘CT Love Bomb Beer’, brewed with hops grown at the CT Agricultural Experiment Station’s Lockwood Farm in Hamden. Bluegrass music by One Way Track, pumpkin carving for the kids (courtesy of Jones Family Farms), and ice cream provided by The Farmers Cow! There will also be some terrific silent auction items to bid on, so bring your checkbook! Don’t miss out!
