Ask Senate Leadership to Call SJ 36 to the Floor for a Vote!
Good news! On Friday, April 29th, the effort to get a Constitutional Amendment in place to better protect our public lands took another key step. Thanks to your help and the collective voices of many advocates, the Environment Committee voted favorably to send Senate Joint Resolution 36 out of Committee. This bill now awaits action in the Senate.
With just days left in the session, we need your help! Call your State Senator TODAY – ask them 1) to contact Senate leadership and have them bring SJ 36 to the floor for a vote and 2) to sign on as a co-sponsor if they have not already done so!

Passage of SJ 36 in the legislature would place a question on the ballot in November that – if approved by a simple majority of voters – would ensure a more deliberative and transparent process is in place when our public lands (including our conservation and agricultural lands) are proposed for sale or transfer. This will help prevent these state-held lands from being sold, traded, or given way without public input and appropriate compensation.

Take a few minutes TODAY to help get this bill voted on before the session ends! Remember, your voices matter!
